A small selection of the walks available is listed below:
Starting from St Brannocks Road we make our way to the Old Railway line that served the town but now is National Cycle Route 27. We follow this toward Mortehoe passing the Slade reservoirs, then taking quiet country lanes we walk to the Borough Valley and following a babbling brook approach Lee Bay. Here we stop for a break and the local hotel offers chance for liquid re hydration! After this break we then follow the Coast path back to Ilfracombe where the walk finishes adjacent to the Landmark Theatre.
Starting from Hunters Inn we take the path towards Heddons Mouth, shortly though we branch off, taking the old Carriage route up the Hill towards Lynton. Contouring the hill reach minor roads, taking a short diversion we visit Woody Bay an excellent place for lunch or elevenses. We then climb back to the coast path which we follow back to Heddons Mouth stopping en route to take in the exhilarating views on offer towards Lynton and beyond.. Finishing again at the Hunters Inn where we will be able to celebrate our achievement with a pint of local ale.
Starting from the charming village of Withypool we quickly find the tranquil footpath that follows the River Barle south. Looking out for all the wildlife that can be seen in this pleasant environment we arrive at Tarr Steps, a local well known beauty spot, here Ice Creams, Snacks and a pub are available to anybody wishing to re charge their batteries. We then climb out of the valley and proceed to Withypool Hill via a stone circle, at the summit of the hill we can stop and take in the wonderful 360’ view, its then a short walk back to Withypool with its fine pub and tearoom.
